Your power team can be anybody involved in helping you acquire and control more properties. It can be your broker, solicitor, estate agent, marketing team member, builder, etc. In this brief blog though I’m mainly talking about your power team of tradesmen (tradeswomen).
A Power Team is ESSENTIAL because they are going to keep the job moving and help you get the job done. Having a reliable list of contacts you can count on will make your life much easier. When you come across an obstacle which is inevitable you will be able to make a call or send an email and have an answer from somebody you trust.

You should have the following in your power team;
✅Architect
✅Structual engineer
✅Planning consultant
✅General builder *** this is the first one I would look for ***
✅Plasterer
✅Carpenter
✅Plumber
✅Kitchen fitter
✅Roofer
✅Glazier
✅Decorator
✅Landscaper
✅EPC / Inventory company
As you progress into your investing journey you will become more and more efficient with your refurbishments and which trades to use. At first its completely normal to feel overwhelmed if you have not done anything like this before. You may find that your general builder will often fit windows and doors but there are ofcourse people that only do windows and doors. I would be a bit bothered though if the plumber said that he also does landscaping, unless he had a business partner and that’s what they did. Like I always say to my mentees ‘trust your gut’ – if its giving you bad signals then walk away.
👉Be very wary of people that say they can do everything or they ‘have a mate’ that does what you are after.
Just a short blog today but the main thing I wanted to identify is that your Power Team are a big part of your journey and success – have the wrong people and they will delay your progress and profits.
